Punta Secca, a hamlet of Santa Croce Camerina, is a charming fishing village located along the coast. The locals call it "A SICCA" (the shallow) because of a formation of rocks in front of the east-facing beach, hence a "shallow". The recent popularity of this village is due to the fact that it was chosen as a location for the filming of the television series Inspector Montalbano. The commissioner's seaside house is actually located in a small villa in the village square.
